Our main aim is to minimise the impact our operations have on the environment and the natural resources we consume.
We understand that our workforce is integral to achieving our business goals and we are fully committed to ensuring that all our worker's safety, human rights and wellbeing are respected. To achieve this, we have developed a new initiative with clearly defined short and long-term sustainability goals. We call this initiative Portwest Planet.
ENVIRONMENT
85% of our garments carry the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label, guaranteeing that every component of this product has been tested for harmful substances. We have achieved the highest STeP by OEKO-TEX standard level 3 for ecological and socially responsible textile production.
LABOUR AND HUMAN RIGHTS
Portwest’s fully owned factories are certified to the WRAP Gold Standard. WRAP is the worlds largest, independent, factory based compliance program for responsible production in the sewn product sector.
PORTWEST PLANET SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS
In 2021 Portwest introduced a new eco-friendly range of products. Each of these products has been responsibly sourced and produced in the most environmentally friendly manner achievable.
SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT
Portwest is a member of Sedex, one of the world’s leading online platforms for companies to manage and improve working conditions in global supply chains. Our fully owned factories are audited using the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA).

We have a comprehensive learning and development program in place and ask for 100% engagement in corporate ethics and anti-corruption and bribery training. IT security is one of our top priorities, we are determined to protect business information for our suppliers, customers and staff.
